Applying Make Up
A good trick to looking beautiful and gorgeous is through the use of make up. Although before you go plucking random expensive brands from the shelf and applying make up on your facade, it is best if you consider the following first: skin tone, skin type, and finally, face shape.
Skin tone is categorized as either warm or cool. You can check your skin tone by identifying the color of the veins at the underside of your arm. If they appear to be blue, you are cool-toned and if it is green, warm. Generally, skin tone is a big deciding factor on which colors suit you best. For cool skin tone, the best colors are those associated with winter and jewels while for warm, summer and earthy colors bring out the best in you.
Now, there are three basic skin types: oily, dry, and combination skin. This helps you in the decision on what your make up should be based on. For oily skin, usage of powder based cosmetics bring in better results than that of using liquid creams just as it is best for dry skin to use liquid-based ones instead of powder.
There are five categories for face shapes. They are Trapezoidal Face, Rectangular or a Square Face, Triangular Face, an Oval or a Heart-Shaped Face, and a Round Face. The face type that achieves the best results is the oval or the heart shape. Ways to replicate this on the other types can be done by applying make up just a little bit on certain spots or sides of your face. Trapezoid can look more oval by defining the lower half with dark foundation and using light make up at the temple. For square or rectangular faces, soften the edges with dark foundation. Triangular is the opposite of Trapezoid, here we must have darker shades at the top with light powder at the bottom. And finally, the round face should be darkened at the temples and around the lower face.
